2011 Porsche Cayman Pictures

The 2011 Porsche Cayman ranks 1 out of 8 Luxury Sports Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 63 published reviews and test drives of the Porsche Cayman, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

Meshing speed, agility and luxury seamlessly, the 2011 Porsche Cayman is one of the best luxury sports cars on the market.

If you’re checking out luxury sports cars, you’ve probably looked at both the 2011 Porsche Cayman and the 2011 Porsche Boxster. These guys are siblings. They look alike; their main exterior difference is that the Cayman has a hard top, and the Boxster has a soft one. When you get down to the nitty gritty, however, you’ll find that the 2011 Porsche Cayman is more powerful than the 2011 Porsche Boxster. The base Cayman gets 10 more horsepower. Starting at $51,400, the Cayman is also more expensive than the $47,600 base 2011 Porsche Boxster.

Shoppers who value performance and can afford to pay more, should go for the Cayman. Reviewers are positive that they won’t be disappointed -- there are few things the automotive industry doesn’t like about this car. As with all sports cars, you will have to compromise in a few areas. First, cargo space is limited, but reviewers say trunk space is respectable for a car this size. Second rear visibility is poor in the corners. On the bright side, taller passengers will be quite pleased when they step inside the 2011 Porsche Cayman. The cabin is comfortable, and many drivers should find a comfortable driving position.

If you want all-out performance, give the Porsche Boxster a whirl. For 2011, it adds another model to the line -- the Spyder -- and test drivers are calling it one of the best luxury sports cars ever. Keep in mind however, that the Spyder isn’t for the faint of heart. It doesn’t come with air conditioning, a radio or normal door handles. These features weigh cars down, and to increase performance, Porsche took them out.

The Chevrolet Corvette is another good option, but it appeals to a completely different audience because it doesn’t prioritize luxury. Rather, the Corvette is all about hardcore sports performance. The base coup gets a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a six speed manual transmission. This powertrain produces 100 more horsepower than the Cayman R. That said, if you’re looking for a famous American-made nameplate and a powerful engine at a cheaper price, the Corvette is worth a test drive.

Owning a 2011 Porsche Cayman or Corvette is a luxury for most people because their size, price and performance are too impractical for drivers who just need a daily commuter. If you fall into this category, you can still get an affordable sports car that offers more than enough pep for trips to the office. Take a look at the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the best option for sports car shoppers on a budget. True, all models only get a maximum of 167 horsepower, but that’s plenty of horsepower for a car that small. Also, at this price point, don’t expect the Miata to be as snazzy as the 2011 Porsche Cayman -- it’s nowhere near as luxurious.

If you can still afford a 2011 Porsche Cayman, try a 2010 model that’s still on dealer lots. It’s a lot like the 2011 version, and you’re more likely to save money.

The Dodge Charger is an American automobile manufactured by the Dodge division of Chrysler. There have been several different Dodge vehicles, built on three different platforms and sizes, all bearing the Charger nameplate. The name is generally associated with a performance model in the Dodge range; however, it has also adorned subcompact hatchbacks, full-sized sedans, and personal luxury coupes. An SRT-8 version of the Charger debuted at the 2005 New York International Auto Show. Powered by a 425 hp (317 kW) version of the 6.1 L (370 cu in) Hemi, it also featured upgraded Brembo brakes, and interior and exterior updates. The engine produces 420 lb·ft (569 N·m) of torque. The 425 net horsepower of the modern 6.1 L Hemi makes it even more powerful than the legendary Chrysler Hemi engines of the muscle car era, the biggest of which was rated at 425 gross horsepower. This makes the 6.1 L Hemi engine the most powerful V8 engine that Chrysler has ever put in a production vehicle with a 5-speed automatic transmission.

Honda Accord CL9 Pictures

Honda Accord CL9 powertrain consisted of a 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder engine, a six-speed manual transmission (which featured a special casing, to reduce weight), and a front wheel drive layout. A five-speed semi-automatic was optional and did not incur extra cost in the U.S. based on MSRP; however such was not the case in Canada.

2005 was the second year of the Honda Accord CL9 and Honda Accord updated it with XM Satellite Radio, heated door mirrors, a four-way power passenger seat and illuminated the steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. In 2006, the Honda Accord CL9 was updated with slight tweaks to the engine (adding 5 hp); a sportier exterior styling featuring a slightly new front and rear treatment, standard side skirts, and standard, integral fog lights; and restyled wheels. State of the art interior features have been added, including a Multi-information Display (MID) in the instrument panel, more standard safety features, and luxury features such as an auxiliary MP3 player input and Bluetooth-compatible HandsFreeLink. In 2007, a new Tire Pressure Monitoring System and an improved electronic rear view mirror were added, and the 2008 model year brought a few additional features and a new color to the Honda Accord CL9.

The Truth About Cars named the 2007 Honda Accord CL9 to its top ten best cars list, saying this was badge engineering done right.

Dagger GT Wallpapers

The Dagger GT has over-the-top ambitions of becoming the most sinister production car ever built. Only five will be manufactured in 2011 and all but two have been pre-sold. U.S. based TranStar Racing says its design is based on the Corvette Cheetah concept and vows to break every major record, from being the fastest on a straight line to being the quickest around the Nurburgring.

But what credentials does it bring to the fore? For starters, TransStar Racing lists a “who’s who” of U.S. auto industry veterans. From award winning engineers and race car builders to NASA aerodynamicists and the designer of the Saleen S7, the TranStar team reaches into almost every corner.

For hardware, TranStar proposes a 572 multifuel (petrol/methanol/hydrogen/ethanol) twin turbo racing unit from Nelson Racing Engines (builders of the 1800hp Mosler Red Devil) which is capable of spewing out a seemingly insurmountable 1,491 kW (2,000 bhp / 2,028 PS). Peak torque is said to be 2,710Nm (2,000 lb-ft) running through a TranStar/Mendeola 6-speed transmission.

Expected performance figures are equally astounding: 0-60 mph in 1.5 seconds, quarter mile in less than 6.7 seconds and a top speed of over 483 km/h (300mph). The outer body is made from carbon fibre, while a high-strength 4130 Chromoly Steel chassis forms the inner structure.

Three different models can be ordered: a hard-core racer, a street-legal sport version and a soft-riding luxurious GT-X that combines both speed and comfort.

Following the first five contract units, sales will begin during the first half of 2011 for 10 units to be delivered in 2012 and each car is priced at a minimum of US$450,000 (€360,000).

GMC Terrain Pictures

The 2011 GMC Terrain ranks 4 out of 23 Affordable Compact SUVs. This ranking is based on our analysis of 25 published reviews and test drives of the GMC Terrain, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.

The 2011 GMC Terrain gives compact SUV buyers refinement, high-tech standard features and great fuel economy. However with so many standards, the Terrain has a high starting price for the class.

In a sea of rounded lookalike compact SUVs, the 2011 GMC Terrain stands out with angular, truck-like styling. It also stands out thanks to its long list of standard features, which includes a rearview camera, something that’s a rare standard feature even among luxury SUVs. Most reviewers say that the Terrain is more refined and carlike than the competition, making it an excellent choice for a family SUV.

While the Terrain isn’t perfect -- its cargo space doesn’t lead the class and it’s not all that maneuverable in parking lots -- it should still be on any family-SUV buyer’s list. When it comes to size, the Terrain straddles the line between compact and midsize SUVs, but when it comes to fuel economy, the Terrain is hard for even smaller SUVs to beat. Edmunds says the Terrain (along with its platform mate, the Chevrolet Equinox) “is a top choice for a compact crossover SUV." The 2011 GMC Terrain is similar to the Chevrolet Equinox but the Equinox starts at about $2,000 less. While the Terrain comes with more standard features, if you can do without them, the Equinox gives you similar space and fuel economy at a lower price.

Anyone looking at the GMC Terrain should also look at class favorites like the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. Again, those two options have lower starting prices than the GMC Terrain does, but they also have fewer standard features. Neither can match the Terrain’s fuel economy. On the other hand, each gives buyers about 10 cubic feet more cargo space than the Terrain.
